Student Jobs
Each student possesses a job within the building. Each student has a daily job that rotates each day, as well as, a weekly job that requires the completion of more steps. The students earn a paycheck that they pick up every Friday in the front office. They can “cash in” their paychecks for Elm Place money or save their money in their “savings account”. Students can spend their hard earned money in two ways:
1) Elm Place Treasure Chest: This is a classroom store
with a variety of items. Each item is priced at a
different value. Students can purchase items
whenever they have enough money. Items often
change and typically reflect the individual interests of
the students.
2) HodgeBusters: This is a classroom movie/videogame
rental system. Students are allowed to rent
movies or games over night for a small fee. Late
charges are applied when rentals are not returned on
time.
